The list of plants in a region is called flora, and these plant species are endemic if differentiation of these plants are very specific and limited. Marmaris National Park, Gökova and Datça - Bozburun Special Environmental Protection Zones contain endemic wealth. Onopordum caricum, a kind of thorn named after a the area's former name, Globularia dumulosa, Cyclamen trochopteranthum (Domuztopalağı), Campanula Fruticulosa (bellflower), and Liquidambar orientalis (sweetgum) can be considered as endemic plant species in Marmaris. Additionally, sage, mullein, barbed daisy, foxglove, and a new endemic kind of date (Phoenix Theoqhrasti) previously believed to exist only on the Island of Crete, may also be counted.
